EAST PRAIRIE -- Mary Ellen Russell McCormack, 84, died at 7:20 p.m. Oct. 3, 2007, at East Prairie Nursing Home.
Born Dec. 25, 1922, in East Prairie, daughter of the late Dick and Ophelia Bryan Russell, she was a member of the First Christian Church and had lived her life in East Prairie. In 1948 she was employed with Simpson Oil Company in Charleston, where she worked for 10 years. She later worked for Bock Oil Company and the MFA until her retirement in 1972.
Survivors include: one aunt, Mildred Russell of Mesa, Ariz.; two nephews and their wives, Dickey and Sherry Russell and Buddy and Dianna Russell all of East Prairie; two nieces and their husbands; Marilyn and Ervin Kranawetter of Fruitland and Janie and Jerry Maxwell of East Prairie.
One brother, Harry Bryan Russell, preceded her in death in 1989.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. Friday until service time at 1 p.m. at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie with Martin Lucas officiating.
Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Keith Maxwell, Paul Bryan Russell, Rob Barker, Don Smith, Lance and Ben Ray.
