Born May 15, 1941, at Greenbrier, son of the late Leo and Letha Ladd Whitehead, he was a buyer for Procter and Gamble in Cape Girardeau, retiring after 25 years of service. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was of the Baptist belief.
On Oct. 24, 1962, in Dallas, Texas, he married Barbara Dunn who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Darrin Pickett of Barnhart; two daughters, Barbara "Beth" Stoffregen of Fredericktown and Susanne "Elaine" Michelson of Millersville; two brothers, Bill Whitehead of Advance and Ronald Whitehead of Corsicana, Texas; five sisters, Shirley Carlton of Zalma, Mary Lee Fisher of Marble Hill, Alma Jean Fortner of Zalma, Janice Snider of Marble Hill and Donna Hellings of Panama City Beach, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home where Masonic rites are scheduled for 7 p.m.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ray Placher officiating.
Burial will follow in Morgan Memorial Park.
