SIKESTON -- Ora Jane "Janie" DeWitt, 64, died at 4:55 p.m. Nov. 26, 2007, at her home.
Born June 2, 1943, in Sikeston, to that late Lawrence "Woody" and Sybil E. Heavener Woodward, she was a 1961 graduate of Sikeston High School and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Madrid.
On Aug. 18, 1961, in Miner, she married Lynell DeWitt, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Todd Lynell and Debbie DeWitt of Destin, Fla.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Mike Hall of Sikeston and Becky and Corey McKay of New Madrid; one brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Snookie Woodward of North Richland, Texas; six grandchildren, Sydney DeWitt of Matthews, Ashley Hall, Jessica DeWitt, Katlyn Hall of Sikeston, Sarah DeWitt of Jonesboro, Ark. and Colton McKay of New Madrid; and two great-grandchildren, Rieanna DeWitt of Matthews and Exzavier DeWitt of Jonesboro.
Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Wednesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop, pastor of Immaculate Conception Church, officiating.
A private graveside service will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery.
