JEFFERSON CITY - John C. Huls, 83, died Nov. 21, 2007, at the Capital Region Medical Center.

Born May 10, 1924, in Matthews, son of the late James T. and Kate Scott Huls, he graduated from Matthews High School and the University of Texas at Austin. A U.S. Navy veteran serving in the South Pacific during World War II, he was employed with the Missouri Division of Employment Security for 36 years and retired as Chief of Programs in 1986. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Roy Sone Post 1003, American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post No. 5, the Navy League and was a volunteer at the Hospice of Jefferson City and Mid-

Missouri.

On May 24, 1949, at Independence, he married Dorothy M. Wyrick, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: three sons and two daughters-in-law, Max T. Huls of Jacksonville, Fla., James G. and Sandy Huls of Holts Summit and John K. and Suzanne Huls of Somerset, Pa.; one daughter and son-in-law, Teresa L. and Leon Cook of Jefferson City; one sister, Bethel Griffith of Albuquerque, N.M.; and nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 1-2 p.m. Monday at Freeman Mortuary, 915 Madison in Jefferson City. Graveside services with full military honors will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Riverview Cemetery.
