PUXICO -- Grace Opal Barnfield, 93, died Nov. 10, 2007, at her home.
Born Nov. 3, 1914, at Zalma, to the late Charlie and Maude Bell Lincoln Carnes, she lived all her life in Puxico where she had worked on the family farm. She had also worked as a nurses aid at the Poplar Bluff Hospital and was a cook at Puxico Schools for many years. She was a member of the Corinth General Baptist Church near Puxico.
On Nov. 18, 1932, in Greenville, she married Earl Barnfield who preceded her in death on Oct. 22, 1990.
One son, Earl Edward Barnfield, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: five sons, Clyde Barnfield, Troy Barnfield, Alva Barnfield and Larry Barnfield of Puxico and Bobby Barnfield of Bloomfield; one daughter, Geneva Teeters of Dexter; two brothers, Ellis Carnes of Mt. Vernon, Ill., and Donald Carnes of Garden Grove, Calif.; and 14 grandchildren and 28 great-
Services were held today at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico. The Rev. Roy Placher of Puxico officiated assisted by the Rev. Bob Bradford of Arbor.
Burial followed in the Puxico Cemetery.
