PUXICO - Elmer F. "Bud" Riney, 75, died Nov. 12, 2007, at his home.
Born Nov. 28, 1931, in Bell City, to the late Elmer Thomas and Pearl Denton Riney, he had lived all his life in the Puxico area where he was a retired row crop and cattle farmer and minister. He had served as pastor of the Providence Baptist Church, Little Bethel Church in Fairdealing and the Zalma Baptist Church. He had been a member of the Providence Baptist Church for 33 years and was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War.
In 1954, he married Shirley Kindred, who preceded him in death on Sept. 8, 2000. On May 5, 2001, in Puxico, he married Joyce Lee Kindred, who survives.
Other survivors include: one son, Steven Joe Riney of Puxico; one daughter, Katherine Sue Sawyer of Dexter; one stepson, David Bridges of Puxico; two stepdaughters, Pamela L. Dalton of Corunna, Mich. and Patricia Taylor of Phoenix City, Ala.; two brothers, L.V. Riney of Sikeston and John Riney of DeSoto; one sister, Viola Meyers of Camarilla, Calif.; and three grandchildren, nine stepgrandchildren, four great-grandchildren and seven great-
He was preceded in death by: one daughter, Sandra Ann Riney; two brothers, Virgle Riney and Paul Riney; and three sisters, Ethel Curry, Helen Marie Schneider and Mildred Powers.
Visitation is at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Don Adams of Matthews officiating.
Burial with full military rites will follow in the Fairview Cemetery near Puxico.
