Your View: Don't blame religion

Wednesday, October 17, 2007

Dear Editor,

To the person who made the comment about Muslims in America can blow up the World Trade Center or anything up, and Americans letting them come in and don't say anything to them in the Oct. 2nd SpeakOut article. First of all, this is the land of the free. America has many different religions. We are all free to worship under our own vine and fig tree.

I am a Moslem born here in America. and I don't want to blow anything up. Just because I am a Moslem doesn't mean that I am dangerous. Anyone can blow something up, regardless of their religion. When someone does a sin, blame that person, not the religion.

The Bible says, "for there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not," Ecclesiastes Chapter 7, Verse 20. The sin lies in the wish, in the desire, not in the act. If you think it, then you bring that sin forth! The thought is the cause of it all.

So, I am a wonderful person, who is a Moslem in America, not brought over here, and who can live around anyone and be at peace with myself, as well as my surroundings. Thank you ver much.
