JEFFERSON CITY - Sikeston's Department of Public Safety director will serve on the state's Seismic Safety Commission.
Governor Matt Blunt has approved the appointment of Charles A. "Drew" Juden, according to Sen. Jason Crowell, R-Cape Girardeau, who sponsored Juden's membership on the Commission. The panel works with the local, state and federal government agencies to prepare Missouri for responding to a major earthquake.
"With Charles' extensive background in public safety, he will be a valuable asset to this commission and to Missouri in the event of an earthquake," Crowell said. "Because he is a husband and a father, he understands the personal stake that Missourians have in the emergency preparedness process."
Juden, who is from Sikeston, is certified as an instructor of several training courses in law enforcement and fire operations. He is currently the director of public safety for the city of Sikeston.
