LABADIE -- Geraldine "Dean" Buttery, 78, died at 5:47 p.m. March 1, 2008, at her home.
Born Jan. 17, 1930, at Matthews, to the late Roy and Pearl Cox Woods, she lived most of her life in St. Louis and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Overland Park.
On Nov. 27, 1947, she married Rufus Verlon Buttery who preceded her in death on May 4, 1984.
Two brothers, James "Sonny" Woods and Neal Woods; and three sisters, Butell Stagner, Onie Williford and Birdie Sterling also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two sons, Michael Buttery of Labadie and Mark Buttery of New Orleans; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Janice and Leo Bierling of St. Louis, Paula and Michael Blackwell of New Haven and Sandra Buttery of Troy; three sisters, Ola Ledbetter of Bethpage, N.Y., and Alma Kearby and Lorene Vickery of Poplar Bluff; and 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until time of services at noon Tuesday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Mike Johnson will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
