Youngster takes home first checkered flag at SEMO Raceway

BLODGETT -- Anyone who missed the Kart races at SEMO Saturday night, July 8, missed the opportunity to see some great competitive racing.

All the drivers were in top form trying to accumulate some extra points during the double point race Saturday.

Sr Champ Class was won by Van Cooper of Paducah, KY with Todd Anderson of Paducah coming in in 2nd spot.

Jr. Champ Class had Callie Rezek of Symsonia, Ky back in Victory Lane this week with Shawn Knuckles of Poplar Bluff coming in a close 2nd place finish.

The Over 35 Class was won by James Sullivan of Paducah, Ky with Derek Riley of Calvert City coming in a very close 2nd place. The Stock Medium was won by James Sledd of Paducah, Stock Light was won by Brandon Wade of Charleston, and the JR. 1 Rookie class was won by Scottie Gretzmacher of St. Gen, MO.

The Jr. Stock was the most exciting race of the evening with it young and fearless drivers ranging in age from 12-15.

First place was swapped several times during the 15 lap feature race between the # 9 of Devin Fraser and the #1s of Shawn Knuckles driving in his 2nd race of the evening.

When the white flag dropped, Shawn managed to make one more pass to bring home the checkered flag win with Devin Fraser finishing in 2nd spot. The Jr. Sportsman Champ (Aqua) was won by Carson Anderson of Paducah, Ky with Derrick Garner of Blodgett finishing in 2nd spot. The Jr. Sportman Champ (Purple) was won by Lee Porter of Olmstead, Ky with Dylan Stewart of Paducah, Ky coming in 2nd.

Cade (Rudy) McClellan of Jackson, MO won his very 1st feature ever in the Yard Kart Class at SEMO Saturday Night.

Cade also set a new record for qualifying fastest lap time in the Yard Kart Class with the time of 20.125 seconds on the 5th mile clay oval.
