DEXTER -- James L. Culverhouse, 69, died June 20, 2005, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.
Born Jan. 6, 1936, in Shreveport, La., son of the late Daniel Price and Jessie Lee Bass Culverhouse, he had lived in Mendin, La., most of his life and had lived in Dexter the past three years. He was a truck driver for Heavy Duty Trucks. A member of New Hope Baptist Church in Athens, La., he attended the Lighthouse Christian Center in Dexter.
On May 29, 1992, at Piggott, Ark., he married Shirley Boyles who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons, Greg Culverhouse of Shreveport and Dale Cobb and Lonnie Cobb of Dexter; one daughter, Lynn Walters of Monroe, La.; two brothers, Danny Culverhouse of Benton, La., and Cledie Culverhouse of Sibley, La.; five sisters, Eunice Carter and Evelyn Williams of Bossier City, La., Lucille Hunter of Saratoga, Texas, Amelia Ingrum of Homer, La., and Irene Frost of West Monroe, La.; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday. John Ruddick of Dexter will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Taylor Cemetery near Essex.
