CHARLESTON - Blanche Chandler, 81, died at 3:22 a.m. Oct. 9, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born June 15, 1926, in Sikeston, to the late Raymond and Nina Ladd Walker, she lived most of her life in Charleston where she was a retired cook for Charleston R-I Schools and a member of the First General Baptist Church.
In Oct. 1941, she married James Robert "Bob" Chandler, who preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 1978.
One son, Jim Chandler, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son, Randy Chandler of Charleston; two daughters, Janess Aldridge of Columbus, Ky. and Cindy Ellis of Copperas Cove, Texas; and 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Visitation is at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday with Bill Meeks officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
