JACKSON - Lena Irene Sims, 88, formerly of Anniston, died at 12:10 p.m. Feb. 22, 2005, at the Monticello House in Jackson.
Born May 7, 1916, in Damascus, Ark., daughter of the late George and Sally Hensley Sims, she lived in Mississippi County most of her life before moving to Jackson in 2001. She was a member of the Christian Church in Anniston.
On Nov. 30, 1933, in New Madrid, she married Bernie Sims who preceded her in death on June 2, 2003.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Larry J. and Linda Sims of Mesa, Ariz.; four daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and Alfred Baker of Marion, Ill., Ginger and Stanley Riehn of Oak Ridge, Beverly and Dennis Tidwell of Bloomington, Ill., and Cherie and Ronnie Abner of Brunswick, Ga.; one sister, Anne Alsup of Maryland Heights; and 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Randy Sims; and one granddaughter, two sisters and two brothers.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Thursday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston with Martin Lucas officiating.
Pallbearers will be: Alfred Baker, Greg Baker, Stanley Riehn, Michael Riehn, Ronnie Abner and Dennis Tidwell.
