ST. LOUIS - Lola Cates, 85, formerly of Bloomfield, died Feb. 21, 2005, in St. Louis.
Born Nov. 3, 1919, in Bloomfield, daughter of the late Walker and Minnie Palmer, she lived in the Bloomfield area most of her life. She had been employed by the Elder Manufacturing Co. for many years and she and her husband owned and operated the Cates Auto Parts Store in Bloomfield.
In September 1938, she married Elvis Cates who preceded her in death on Nov. 25, 1974.
Survivors include: one son, retired Lt. Col. Ronnie Cates of Port Angeles, Wash.; one daughter, Elva Walsh of St. Louis; one brother, Raleigh "Fuzz" Palmer of Aquilla; two grandchildren, Kevin Walsh and Laurie Wingerter of St. Louis; and four great-grandsons.
Four sisters and five brothers also preceded her in death.
Visitation is from 10:30 a.m. Friday until service time at 11:30 a.m. at Chiles-
Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Vyron Yount officiating.
Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bloomfield.
