Born Aug. 25, 1936, in Grubsville, daughter of the late Archie Grant and Mary Jane Minker Pierce, she was a member of the Blue Springs Country Club. A 1954 graduate of Grayridge High School, she was owner and chief executive officer of the Delta Sweeping Company for more than 30 years.
Survivors include: two sons, Keith Owings of Lees Summit and Robert Clifton of Kansas City; two daughters, Valerie Holland of Blue Springs and Brenda Howerton of Normal, Ill.; one brother, Glenn Dale Pierce of Essex; seven grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; and a special friend, Jim Haston of Lees Summit.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Norman Grant Pierce; and one sister, Norma Jean Pierce.
Visitation is from noon Thursday until service time at 1 p.m. at the Highland Park Funeral Home in Kansas City, Kan.
Burial will follow in the Highland Park Cemetery in Kansas City.
