SIKESTON - The Sikeston Ladies Auxiliary Unit 114 baseball team split a doubleheader with Farmington on Tuesday in their home opener at VFW Stadium.
Sikeston won the first of two seven inning games 8-2 behind the pitching of Zach Secoy, who threw 5 2/3 innings, allowing two hits and four walks while striking out four.
Paul Bucher threw 1 1/3 innings of relief.
Sikeston was led offensively by Josh Jackson, who went 2-4 with a run scored. Others were Nick Lambert (1-3, run), Cody Anderson (1-3, run), Chase Ferrell (1-3, run), Sylis Dill (1-2, double), Chase Seyer (1-3, run) and Garrett Limbaugh (1-4, run).
Sikeston lost the second game to Farmington 10-5. Kody Campbell was the losing pitcher while Ferrell pitched in relief.
Sikeston?s only hitters were Austin Williams (1-3, double) and Clayton Mayfield (1-2, run).
Unit 114 is now 4-2 on the season after taking second in the Jackson Tournament over the weekend.
They beat Cape Girardeau Legion, Twin Rivers and Kirkwood but lost to Jackson in the championship game.
