PORTAGEVILLE - Charles Anthony Beis Jr., 67, died July 3, 2005, at Memphis, Tenn.

Born Dec. 20, 1937, at St. Louis to the late Virginia Goldschmidt and Charles A. Beis Sr., he attended St. Eustachius School and high school in Portageville and St. Louis University. A member of the board of directors of the Pemiscot-

Dunklin Electric Co-Op at Hayti for 13 years, he was a board member of the Associated Missouri Electric Co-Op at Jefferson City, the St. Eustachius Church Board and School Board chairman, the Knights of Columbus, the Portageville Head Start Parent Board and New Madrid County Drainage Ditch 18 Board. For three years he was assistant manager of Dial Finance in St. Louis and for 44 years was an area farmer.

On Oct. 1, 1960, in St. Louis, he married Dorothy Kraemer, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are: two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Pam Beis III and James and Tammy Beis of Portageville; five daughters and four sons-in-

law, Karen and Chuck Armour of Brighton, Tenn., Nancy and Paul Noland of Perryville, Angela and Phillip Allgier of Fredericktown, Mary and Jimmy Alsup of Portageville and Barbara Kembel of Poplar Bluff; one brother and sister-in-

law, John and Susan Beis of Poplar Bluff; one sister and brother-in-law, Jo Ann and Cleat Stanfill of Caruthersville; 17 grandchildren, Jeremy Ruby, Charles Beis IV, Jackie (Trey) Weddington, Brandon Beis, Nikki Weddington, Charles Armour, Caleb Armour, Brett Armour, Blake Armour, Michael Armour, Seth Noland, Ryan Noland, Nathan Noland, Caitlyn Allgier, Eli Allgier, Jacob Alsup and Mackenzie Alsup; one great-grandson, Blake Weddington; and four nephews, three nieces, four great-nephews and four great-nieces; and his uncles, Edward Schoenbein of Ferguson and Dale Schoenbein of California.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today at the DeLisle Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Eustachius Catholic Church.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
