SIKESTON -- Terry and Jackie Herndon have announced the engagement of their daughter, Heather Michelle, to Clay Anthony Sloan, son of Tony and Jill Sloan of Morehouse.

The future bride earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Southeast Missouri State University in 2005 and is a registered nurse at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

A 2000 graduate of Sikeston High School, the prospective bridegroom works as a mechanic for Morlan Dodge.

Plans are under way for a Dec. 1 wedding in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
