DEXTER -- Curtis D. Coffey, 72, died Aug. 25, 2005, at his home.
Born March 15, 1933, near Essex, son of the late Otto and Edna Zile Coffey, he had lived in Dexter most of his life and was a former employee of AmerenUE. He had a passion for hunting, golfing and woodwork. He enjoyed great friendships through the years.
On Jan. 5, 1952, in Piggott, Ark., he married Joann Lankford who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son, Steve Coffey of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Gary Burkemper of O'Fallon, Patty and James Lambert of Dexter and Angie and Tom Keenan of Cape Girardeau; one brother and sister-in-law, Bud and June Coffey of Dexter; five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Audrey and Ivan Pulling of Parma, Martha Tucker of Grayridge, Loretta and Bob Mouser of Poplar Bluff, Opal and Phil Short of Neelyville and Jean and Bob Isbell of Dexter; three grandchildren, Mike Burkemper, Andy Burkemper and Sarah Burkemper; and many nieces and nephews.
One brother-in-law, Bert Tucker, preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
