Born July 13, 1924, in Carmi, Ill., son of the late Christian W. and Flora Winter Botsch, he was a retired farmer and former member of the Bernie Jaycees and Bernie School Board. A member of the United Methodist Church for 52 years, he served as a head usher and greeter for 50 years and was a former Sunday school teacher. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the European Theater.
On Dec. 25, 1947, at Piggott, Ark., he married Helen Harmon, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Don Botsch of Bernie; one daughter, Nancy Wilson of Jefferson City; three brothers, Ernest Botsch, Erwin Botsch and Orlando Botsch of Bernie; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Susan Marner-Sides will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Missouri Funeral Honor Guard.
