CHARLESTON -- Bernice Tinnell Stader, 92, died at 1:32 a.m. March 29, 2005, at the Charleston Manor.
Born May 18, 1912, in East Prairie, daughter of the late J. David "Dave" and Mary Elizabeth Moore Tinnell, she had lived most of her life in Charleston, where she was employed as a bookkeeper with Friedmans Department Store in downtown Charleston and later with the Charleston Auction Company until her retirement. She was a member of the Charleston United Methodist Church and the Ladies Card Club.
On July 15, 1934, she married Owen M. Stader who preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 1984.
Two brothers, William "Bill" Tinnell and Finley Tinnell; and two sisters, Strada Givens and Audrie Klay, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, David and Cathy Stader of Arlington, Texas; and one granddaughter, Elizabeth Stader of Columbia.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Thursday until time for services at 1 p.m. at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Roger Jespersen, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Charleston, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
