SIKESTON -- Margaret Catherine Alger, 85, formerly of St. Louis, died at 12:

55 P.M. Aug. 19, 2005, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.

Born Jan. 3, 1920, in Lexington, Ky., daughter of the late Henry and Amanthes Moody Faith, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sikeston and the Kingsdaughter's Sunday school class. She was a past worthy matron of Benjamin Franklin Chapter 393, Order of the Eastern Star in Brentwood and a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 137 in Sikeston. She retired after 34 years with the Industrial Engineering and Equipment Co. in Brentwood.

On April 2, 1938, in St. Louis, she married George Russell Alger who preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 1986.

Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and James Stallings of Sikeston; one brother, Homer Faith of Payson, Ariz.; three grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, James and Martha Ann Stallings of Colorado Springs, Colo., Tim and Carrie Stallings of West New York, N.J., and Nathan and Hayli Stallings of St. Peters; and three great-grandchildren, Alexander, Catherine and Zachary Stallings, all of Colorado Springs.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Rick Ramsey, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Sikeston, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
