Nov. 18, 1967

SIKESTON - Mouth-to-mouth resuscitation was practiced on a dummy by Boy Scout Jim Dover, Oran Troop 1444, at a first aid training session for Scoutmasters and junior leader of the Okeechobee District at Murray Lane Baptist Church.

SIKESTON - Miss Mary Bucher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James H. Bucher of Sikeston is among the 36 Memphis State University students named to Who's Who Among American Universities and Colleges.

SIKESTON - Although there was no quorum at Tuesday night's meeting of the Sikeston Planning and Zoning Commission, those present did discuss a request from Malone and Hyde Inc. to the city council for vacation of a 20-

foot easement west of its facility. Representing Malone and Hyde was Sikeston attorney Joseph Fuchs. The company recently purchased the property and if the easement is vacated, plans to expand.

NEW MADRID - New Madrid County Central didn't get cheated, they didn't beat themselves, and the referees didn't decide the outcome of the game. In the Class 3A quarterfinal match up at New Madrid on Monday night, Mary Institute/Country Day just flat out beat NMCC on the field, 17-8.

NEW MADRID - New Madrid County R-1 School District students will be able to go "on-line" but before they begin surfing the World Wide Web, the school board established a policy for acceptable student usage.
