Born Feb. 11, 1941, in the Dogwood Community near East Prairie, son of the late James Edward and Elsie Marie Burns Norman, he was a retired box contractor and had lived in Immokalee, Fla., for 32 years. For the past few years he and his wife, "the tomato lady," offered a produce stand in Sikeston. He was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in East Prairie.
On July 1, 1961, at East Prairie, he married Willie Bea Moore who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons, Jimmy Duane and Donald Gene Norman of Jacksonville, Fla., and Danny Lee Norman of East Prairie; one daughter, Debbie Dupree of Golden Gate, Fla.; three brothers, George Alfred Norman of Sikeston, Monroe Norman of Murray, Ky., and Mike Norman of East Prairie; four sisters, Claire Mae Humphreys and Sandy Norman of East Prairie, Ruth Miller of LaCenter, Ky., and Margie Scrubbs of Wyatt; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Three sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday. Steve Johnson will officiate.
Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
