PARMA - Chlora E. Gilmer, 91, died on June 15, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born April 27, 1914, in Formosa, Ark., daughter of the late Scott and Nettie Jones, she had lived in Parma for the past 65 years. She was a dedicated believer in God and served Him faithfully at the First Baptist Church of Parma and in the community.
On March 25, 1933, in Bragg City, she was married to James Leslie "Jim" Gilmer, who preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 1987.
Also preceding her in death were: one son, Jimmy Carlton; one sister, Athlyn Duncan; and one brother, Ancil Jones.
Loving survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Jean and Ronnie Wallace of Sikeston and Sandra Jo and Alan Matlock of Olive Branch, Miss.; one brother, Barrett Glenn "Bob" Jones of Lakeside, Calif.; three grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher and Jennifer Wallace of Cape Girardeau, Tracey and Matthew Aubertine of Watertown, N.Y. and James Alan Matlock of Olive Branch; four great-grandchildren, Katelyn Wallace, Maci Wallace, Lydia Wallace and Grace Marie Aubertine; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Carlton; one sister, Athlyn Duncan; and one brother, Ancil Jones.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Parma, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday. John Girdley of Parma will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
