ORAN -- Mary Emley Davis, 89, died at 8:37 a.m. April 20, 2005, at a family home.
Born Jan. 12, 1916, in Hymara, Ind., daughter of the late Lettie Wilkins and LeRoy Buell, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Oran, where she has lived for 30 years.
On Feb. 18, 1935, she married Monroe Olice "Dick" Davis, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons, Leon Davis of Monroe, La., Bill Davis of Valrico, Fla., and Glenn Davis of Oran; five daughters, Peggy Lape and Jane Swain of Chaffee, Lavern Warren of Greenwood, Mary Penhale of Grovetown, Ga., and Janice Trankler of Oran; one brother, Joe Buell of Oran; one sister, Lavina Wilkinson of Oran; and 32 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Jim Davis; one daughter, Sue Hagan; one brother; and two grandsons.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Ed Carter will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Forest Hill Memorial Gardens near Morley.
Pallbearers will be: Bill Davis, Rodney Davis, Kenny Stanley, Jeff Eftink, Mike Eftink and Richie Swain.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Richard Stanley and Jim Penhale.
