MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- Staff Sgt. Orentlal S. Steward, 29, died Oct. 9, 2005, in Misawa, from injuries sustained in a traffic accident.

Born April 26, 1976, in Dexter, Mo., son of Allen Rand of Portageville, Mo., and Betty Steward of Lilbourn, Mo., he was a member of the Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church, the men's choir and the single's ministry. A 1994 graduate of New Madrid County Central High School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force on July 28, 1994. He was also a member of Misawa Air Base Marauders football team.

In addition to his parents, survivors include: one daughter, Khayrah S. Steward of Lilbourn; three brothers, Demarlo Steward of Muskegon, Mich., Anthony Allen Henderson of Memphis, Tenn., and Cornelius Shon Payton of Malden, Mo.; two sisters, Jacara Steward of Jefferson City, Mo., and Mykelyn Steward of Lilbourn; paternal grandparents, Bennie Rand of Hayti, Mo., and Ethel Rand of Cleveland, Ohio; and maternal grandmother, Betty Steward of Muskegon.

Friends may call from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Williams Funeral Home in Howardville, Mo.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Holloway, pastor, officiating.

Burial with full military rites by the Air Force Honor Guard will follow in the Simmons Park Cemetery at Catron, Mo.
