EAST PRAIRIE - Opal L. Sanders, 65, died July 10, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Oct. 14, 1939, in Paris, Tenn., daughter of the late Clarence Arthur Marks and Cleeoria Flatt Marks Motley, she lived most of her life in Mississippi County and was of the Baptist belief.

She first married Lester Childress who preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 1978. She later married Roy Sanders who preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 1997.

Two brothers, Arthur Marks and Willie Marks, and one sister, Gladys Burney, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: one son, Richard Childress of Kansas City; two brothers, E.J. Marks and Malcolm Marks of East Prairie; two sisters, Marie Jones of Tiptonville, Tenn., and Wyvon Wallace of East Prairie; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Tuesday until time for services at 2:30 p.m. at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.

Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
