MARION, Ill. - Robert William "Bob" Marshall, 53, died July 9, 2005, at his home.

Born May 8, 1952, in Oakland, Calif., son of Charles Robert and Jean Porter Marshall of East Prairie, Mo., he was a graduate of the East Prairie High School and the University of Missouri-Columbia where he was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. An agriculture seed salesman, he was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Marion and a coach for the Marion Youth Baseball Association.

On July 23, 1980, in New Madrid, Mo., he married Necie Cooper who survives of the home.

Survivors in addition to his wife and parents include: two sons, Jonathan Marshall and Kyle Marshall of the home; one daughter, Shonna Slaughter of East Prairie; one brother, Steve Marshall of Marietta, Ga.; one sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Steve Glenn of Scott City, Mo.; and one half brother, Jack Jewell of Redwood City, Calif.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at the Richards Funeral home in New Madrid. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Madrid.

Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid.
