PORTAGEVILLE - Bertie Almeda Butler, 72, died June 29, 2005, at her home in Portageville.
Born Oct. 13, 1933, in Hornersville, daughter of the late Arthur and Emma McClain Young, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Portageville and the manager at Sandy's Hallmark Shop in Portageville.
On May 20, 1956, in Kennett, she married Garland Butler, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Stacy Butler of Larkspur, Colo., and Lynn and Heather Butler of Bartlett, Tenn.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jody and Gene Kelly and Judy and Chad Swilley of Portageville; six grandchildren, Lindsey Butler, Meradith Butler, Mathew Butler, Andrew Butler, Madison Swilley and Justin Swilley; and nieces and nephews, Debbie and Tony Morgan, Mike Burnett and Louise Burnett.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Young and Amy Nell Wilson.
Visitation will begin after 6 p.m. Saturday at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church, with Lynn Butler officiating.
Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
