SIKESTON - Mr. and Mrs. George T. Middleton Jr. of Wright Field, Ohio, are parents of their second son, James Anthony, born Friday. Middleton is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George T. Middleton Sr. of Sikeston.


SIKESTON - Mr. and Mrs. J.E. McKelvey have recently moved to Sikeston from Cape Girardeau and are now residing on Heath Street.

SIKESTON - Sixty-six Valentine packages were mailed Tuesday by the Sikeston Jaycees to Sikeston men in the Armed Forces in Vietnam. Writing materials, magazines, newspapers, cookies and a letter of appreciation for doing a good job was included.

SIKESTON - More than 300 members of the Sikeston Public School faculty, administration, citizen's advisory board, board of education and others attended the North Central Evaluation-Vocational Banquet Sunday evening at the high school cafetorium. The evaluation teams will be in Sikeston until Tuesday observing the school system.

SIKESTON - It didn't take long for word to spread about having a new homeless shelter here and as a result help has been pouring in from every corner of the community. So far the shelter has assisted two families and nine individuals. The shelter officially opened Feb. 9.


BLODGETT - Roy and Christine Bollinger of Blodgett were recently honored with a 50th wedding anniversary party hosted by their children at the American Legion Hall in Benton. The Bollingers, who were married Jan. 13, 1948, in Arkansas, have lived at Route 2 Sikeston all their married life.
