MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Max Darrell Satterfield, 73, formerly of Cairo, Ill., died Sept. 9, 2007, at Memphis.
Born Dec. 1, 1933, in Cairo, to the late Louis and Ima Atherton Satterfield, he was a 1951 graduate of Cairo High School. He attended Murray State University prior to joining the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Unit in Fort Campbell, Ky. He retired in 1988 from the CIGNA Corporation after many years of service and was a longtime member of the Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis.
On Jan. 2, 1958, he married Marilyn Rose Karraker who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Court and Kerry Satterfield of Memphis; one daughter and son-in-law, Marci and Donald Nobert of Memphis; one brother, Robert Satterfield of Cairo; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: one son, Max Darrell Satterfield Jr.; and one brother, Louis Satterfield.
Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. today at the Memorial Park Funeral Home in Memphis. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Bellevue Baptist Church Chapel.
Private burial will follow.
