EAST PRAIRIE - Marvin Lee Overby, 68, died at 1:13 p.m. June 2, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Sept. 22, 1936, at Salem, son of the late Fred and Floy Light Overby, he lived in Mississippi County most of his life, where he owned and operated the Overby Auto Body Shop. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church near Charleston and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
On Feb. 21, 1958, he married Emma Lou Bradham who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lisa Overby of San Antonio, Texas, Cathy and Perry Hutcheson of East Prairie and Jennifer and Scott Burnett of New Franklin; two brothers, Steve Overby of Rolla and Richard Overby of Salem; three sisters, Dorothy Norris and Dotty Chapman of Rolla and Ann Ralston of Prairie Groves, Ark.; and six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday. John Archie and Dr. Tim Miller will officiate.
The Missouri Military Honors Program will conduct graveside military rites at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Pallbearers will be: Lowell Nally, Kevin Nally, Ken Stevenson, Charles Parham, Dale Glenn and Jerry Holland.
