PANA, Ill. - Farris Lee "Gus" Sliger, 69, died at 9:44 p.m. May 18, 2006, at Pana Community Hospital.
Born April 24, 1937, in Morehouse, Mo., son of the late Herbert Lee and Edna Maris Farris Sliger, he was a graduate of Morehouse High School and moved to Pana in 1972. He retired from the Pana Township and was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Church of God.
He was married to Dorothy Lou Reynolds who preceded him in death on Feb. 20, 1989.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, James and Renee Sliger of Pana; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna Lynn and Kevin Smith of Pana; two brothers, Fred Sliger of Missouri and the Rev. Johnie Sliger of South Haven, Miss.; one sister, Rosemary Ford of Dexter, Mo.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until time for services at 7:30 p.m. today at the McCracken-Dean Funeral Home in Pana with the Rev. David Beerbower officiating.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Walker Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo.
