DeKALB, Ill. -- Lyndle R. "Sparky" Reeves, 72, passed away Friday, May 19, 2006, at the DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center.
He was born on March 31, 1934, in Brunot, Mo., the son of Raymond J. and Daisy Randolph Reeves. He married Erma Christine Harris on April 14, 1953, in Hernando, Miss.
Lyndle was employed as an electrician. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Germany. He was a member of the Sycamore Church of Christ, the IBEW Union 364 in Rockford. He was an avid Harley-Davidson motorcycle rider.
He is survived by his son, Craig (Sandy) Reeves of Hanover Park; one granddaughter, Mariah Christine Reeves; two stepgrandchildren, Melissa and Michael Hollander; his brother-in-law, Bobby (Carol) Harris of Prescott, Ariz.; several cousins, nieces, nephews and his extended family at the Sycamore Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Erma on Oct. 26, 1993; his brother, Dean Reeves; his sister, Eula Fox; and his parents.
Visitation will be held at 2 p.m. today until time of services at 5 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home Ltd. in DeKalb with the Rev. Phil Vermillion of the Sycamore Church of Christ officiating.
Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the New Morley Cemetery in Morley, Mo., with Rev. Bill Bradley of the Morley Church of Christ officiating.
