BLOOMFIELD - Gertrude E. Green, 97, formerly of Aid and Dexter, died Dec. 29, 2007, at the Golden Living Center in Dexter.
Born Nov. 19, 1910, in Huntingdale, to the late Rev. James M. and Martha Chasteen King, she had lived in Southeast Missouri most of her life. She and her husband had owned and operated the grocery store in Aid for several years. She was a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church and the Bloomfield Chapter of Eastern Star.
On July 11, 1930, she married Lewis Herman Green, who preceded her in death on Sept. 19, 1973.
One son in infancy, Clarence Green; one brother, Clarence King; and two sisters, Lucille King and Opal King, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son, James L. Green of Dallas, Ga.; two daughters, Janice Elaine Green of Dexter and Debra Ann Hicks of Canada; and six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted today at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter. The Rev. Ronald Williams of Aid officiated.
Burial follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
