ANNISTON - Wilton Banks "Tootsie" Rhodes, 85, died at 12:20 a.m. Dec. 29, 2007, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born June 15, 1922, in Hickman, Ky., to the late James Edgar and Dessie Newton Rhodes, he lived most of his life in Mississippi County where he was a retired farmer and sold produce.

On July 8, 1945, he married Clara Fay Walker, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Debbie Rhodes of Huntingdon, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Adriane S. Rhodes of Gastonia, N.C., Terri Ann Rhodes of Sikeston and Rebecca Paige Rhodes of Huntingdon; and four great-grandchildren and four great-stepgrandchildren.

One brother, Kyrus Rhodes, and one sister, Elizabeth Woods, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Shelby Funeral Home at East Prairie with Amos Johnson officiating.

Burial followed at the Anniston Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Todd Woods, Darrell Woods, Ray Woods, Wayne Woods, Kevin Gaddy and Billy Hatton.
