MALDEN -- Ernest W. Botsch, 87, died Feb. 23, 2007, at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born March 19, 1919 at Carmi, Ill., son of the late Christian W. and Flora Mary Winter Botsch, he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church at Malden where he served as an elder. He was a retired dairyman and farmer and worked with the Land for the Landless and the Heifer International Project while serving as an agricultural missionary in Brazil.
On Dec. 24, 1939, at Dexter, he married Dorothy Howell who survives of the home.
Other survivors include four daughters, JoAnn Smart of Tucson, Ariz., Mary Lou Bass of Cape Girardeau, Judy Thurston of Bernie and Joyce Ralston of Troutdale, Ore.; two brothers, Erwin Botsch and Orlando Botsch of Bernie; and eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Dennis Botsch.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Dr. Tom Bass will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
