ESSEX - Jack Blaylock, 71, died Dec. 14, 2007, in the St. Louis University Hospital.
Born Aug. 20, 1936, at Kaiser, Ark., son of the late W.D. and Alta Ward Blaylock, he was a farmer, a member of the Stoddard County Farm Bureau Board of Directors and the Essex-Grayridge Lions Club. He was of the Baptist belief.
On Dec. 16, 1961, at Bernie, he married Joyce Hatchel, who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Keith Miller of Essex and Jackie and Greg Smith of Dexter; four grandchildren, Landon Miller, Shelby Smith, Casey Smith and Jordan Smith; one sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Cecil West of Shelbyville, Tenn.; one special nephew, Danny Blaylock of Malden; and two special nieces, Roxanne Dowdy of Hayti and Cindy Broadway of Rector, Ark.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, David Blaylock, James Blaylock and Glenn Blaylock.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. today in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gary Gilbert officiating.
Burial followed in the Dexter Cemetery.
