DEXTER -- Christine A. Tibbs, 75, died Dec. 15, 2007, at Missouri Southern Healthcare.
Born March 2, 1932, at Parma, to the late Louis Alvin "Bill" and Susie Irene Abshur Leathers, she had lived most of her life in Dexter. She and her husband had worked and owned several restaurants including Cubs, The Bootheel and the Hickory House. She had attended the Assembly of God Church in Dexter.
On Nov. 9, 1968, at Dexter, she married Leo Tibbs who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one stepson, Joe Tibbs of Poplar Bluff; two stepdaughters, Sharon Goodman and Elaine Hurley of Dexter; three brothers, James Leathers of Elsberry and Ira "Connie" Leathers and Danny Leathers of Dexter; two sisters, Geraldine Warren and Patty Stanford of Dexter; and one grandchild and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one daughter in infancy, Donna Sue Tibbs; and two brothers, Bill Leathers and Joe Leathers.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Kenneth Biggs of Dexter officiating.
Burial will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
