SIKESTON - Although a copy of the official Aeronautics Board order granting approval to the Parks Air Transport Inc. for a St. Louis-Memphis route has not been received, service to Sikeston apparently was not approved in the order. Parks had no application before the CAB for service to Sikeston along with other cities between St. Louis and Memphis. No mention has been made of the application in statements by the CAB.

SIKESTON - Fire broke out in a storage room of a small Styrofoam warehouse at the rear of the Canvas Products Company on East Malone at 11 a.m. The blaze destroyed about 500 bales of the material, valued at several thousand dollars, according to Charles "Bud" Bates, manager.

SIKESTON - Missouri Delta Medical Center employees donated $2,034.61 to the Sikeston Untied Way Monday. The hospital employees divided into 37 groups and competed to see which group could collect the most money.

DURANT, Okla. - Rudy H. Manley, former Sikeston, Mo. resident is the new director of enrollment management at Southeastern Oklahama State University.


SIKESTON - Dwayne C. Lorenz, CLU, ChFC was presented the National Quality Award from the National Association of Life Underwriters by the Sikeston Life Underwriters. Lorenz is a 25-year qualifier for this award which recognizes those individuals who demonstrate outstanding service to their clients and the industry.
