Lena Thomas

PORTAGEVILLE - Evalene "Lena" Thomas, 78, died Sept. 18, 2007, at Heartland Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Sept. 11, 1929, in Humboldt, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Chester and Mary Hicks.

She married Walter Thomas, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include: one son, Sherman Thomas of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Lynn Williams, Mae Thomas and Evelyn Thomas of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Clarence Hicks of Portageville; three sisters, Mary Ann Young and Anna Bell Norris of Portageville and Georgia Turner of the state of Kentucky; and 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Saturday at the DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville. The Rev. Reginald Gant will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
