OAKLAND, Miss - Gus W. Johnson, 67, formerly of Memphis, Tenn., died Feb. 23, 2005, at the Baptist DeSoto Hospital.
Born Aug. 2, 1937, in Missouri, son of the late Claude and Bertha Timmons Johnson, he retired as a salesman for the National Manufacturing Company after 26 years of service and was a member of the New Life Fellowship Church in Oakland.
His wife, Joyce Johnson, survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Steven Louis Johnson of Memphis; one stepson, James Taylor of Daytona Beach, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Connie Bolling of Virginia Beach, Va.; two sisters, Mildred Harris of Birmingham and Delores Duncan of St. Louis; and two grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Forest Hill South Chapel in Memphis, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday. Jerry Smith, pastor of the New Life Fellowship Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Forest Hill South Cemetery.
