SCOTT CITY - Helen Marie Garms, 77, died at 5:40 a.m. Feb. 23, 2005, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Feb. 28, 1927, at Rivermines, daughter of the late Lyman and Nannie Smith Jenkins, she had been an IBM operator for Wetterau in Scott City. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and life member of VFW Post 6407 Ladies Auxiliary in Scott City.
On Oct. 15, 1977, at Scott City, she married John A. Garms who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Bonnie Raines of Chaffee; two stepsons, John A. Garms II of Arnoldville, La., and Jerry E. Garms of Oak Ridge; one sister, Doris Pratt of Farmington; one half sister, Ann Petrie of Farmington; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
One brother preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. Friday until time for a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. David Coon will officiate.
Visitation will continue from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Taylor Funeral Service in Farmington.
Graveside services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday at the New Calvary Cemetery in Farmington with the Rev. James Dyer officiating.
