SIKESTON - Dorothy Mae King, 79, died June 28, 2006, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Aug. 12, 1926, in St. Louis, daughter of the late Leonard and Alta Babb Gillihan, she had been a restaurant cook before her retiring and was a member of the Smith Avenue Church of God.
On Aug. 14, 1948, she married Lester King, who preceded her in death on April 20, 2002.
One sister and two grandchildren also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: nine sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Cindy Gaebler of Delta, David and Branda King of Springfield, Ronny and Ellen King, Bill and Elsie King, Tom and Carol King, Dean and Sherry King, Bob and Cindy King and Joe and Beth King, all of Sikeston, and Don and Tina King of Kansas City; two daughters and sons-in-law, Faye and Roger Emory of Sikeston and Jane and David Beardsley of Sturgis, Mich.; one brother, Jerry Haynes of Mojave, Calif.; three sisters, Ruth Emory of St. Louis, Bonnie McGavock of Jeffersonville, Ind. and Mary Bass of Sikeston; 24 grandchildren and 20 great-
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Smith Avenue Church of God. The Rev. Ira Sandefer, pastor, and the Rev. Kevin King will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Jake King, Danny Rinehart, Joey King, Kevin King, Blake Pierce and Matt Brooks.
