DEXTER -- W.J. "Dub" Crutcher, 89, formerly of Essex, died April 3, 2005, at the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center in Dexter.
Born Sept. 4, 1915, in Essex, son of the late John Loyd and Eliza Shobe Crutcher, he was a self-employed real estate appraiser and a member of the Essex United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the State Board of Conservation, Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce and Ducks Unlimited.
On Sept. 29, 1933, in Sikeston, he married Helen Esther Corlew who preceded him in death on Oct. 31, 1995.
Five sisters, Edna Brannock, Mary Corlew, Daisy Worley, Eva Blunt and Johnnie Silliman, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include: two daughters, Wilma Ann Cox of Syracuse, Ind., and Helen June McGhee of Indianapolis, Ind.; one brother, Davy Crutcher of Dexter; and seven grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Ernie Rogers officiating.
Burial will follow in the Essex Cemetery.
