NEW HAMBURG -- Our beloved Brandon David Sandvos, 13, was called to be with his Lord on April 3, 2005, on a beautiful fishing day while doing something that he loved.
His love for the outdoors was exhibited every day of his short life. Whether it was deer hunting with his Dad, riding his four-wheeler, fishing with Grandpa or friends or tinkering in the shed with his Dad, Brandon was a true boy in every sense. He was a beautiful, energetic teenager. There are many questions never to be answered. He will be sadly missed by all.
Born Sept. 25, 1991, in Cape Girardeau, he was a seventh grade B honor roll student at Kelso C-7 School in New Hamburg and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He participated in basketball on the Kelso C-7 Falcon's A-
team and played on the Junior Babe Ruth baseball team in New Hamburg. Survivors include: his mother and stepfather, Sonja and Bruce Westrich of New Hamburg; his father and stepmother, David and Carol Sandvos of Scott City; two brothers, Cameron Westrich of New Hamburg and Jacob Sandvos of Scott City; and one sister, Elizabeth Sandvos of Scott City.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bobbie and Gary Stubenrauch, Quentin and Barbara Westrich and Hugo "Shine" and Alma Sandvos.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City with parish prayers at 7 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. David Coon as the celebrant.
Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
