Rodney Long

ADVANCE -- Rodney James Long, 71, died March 22, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born July 30, 1933, in Painton, son of the late Evans and Georgia Flowers Long, he was a retired mechanic.

On Jan. 24, 1952, in Painton, he married Margaret Kinder who survives of the home.

Survivors include: three sons, Ricky Long, Randy Long and Rona Long of Bell City; three daughters, Debra Surface of Essex, Tammy Yates of Bell City and Mary Long of Clines Island; two brothers, Tommy Long of Houston, Texas, and Fred Long of Advance; three sisters, Donna Myers of Union, Linda Stephens of Advance and Vivian Vancoil, address unavailable; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday. Tim Hall will officiate.

Burial will follow in Morgan Memorial Park at Advance.
