EAST PRAIRIE -- Murlin Wallace Andrews, 85, died Aug. 11, 2005, at the Bertrand Nursing Facility.
Born Jan. 5, 1920, in Bowman, Ark., to the late James Rowland and Elizabeth Jane McCullers Andrews, he had lived in East Prairie several years, he was a member of the First Assembly of God Church and was retired from the railroad. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army.
On Dec. 14, 1946, he married Mona Nadine Thornbrough who preceded him in death on Feb. 13, 2003.
One son, Claude Rowland Andrews; and three brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.
Survivors include: one son, Murlin Keith Andrews of Utica, Ohio; two daughters, Cynthia R. Watkins of Pegram, Tenn., and Jeanne Blanton Cowger of Sikeston; one brother, Albert Andrews of Hobart, Ind.; and seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Saturday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday with Steven Domingue officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
