SIKESTON -- The Sikeston 10-year-old All-Stars won the first 10-year-old district championship playing as 9-year-olds in 2004. This year proved to be a repeat performance as they won the district championship last weekend.

The team combined for a total of 77 runs scored and held their opponents to 0 runs the entire tournament.

Thursday night's game against Caruthersville was won 19-0 with Cord Sheehy as the winning pitcher.

Friday night's game proved to be more of the same with Sikeston beating New Madrid by a score of 29-0, Trey Tigart was the winning pitcher in that victory. It was Sikeston against Sikeston on Saturday as the 9-year-olds paired off against the 10-year-olds.

Tyler Anderson threw a perfect game, pitching a no-hitter with seven strikeouts and contributing an out of the park home run in the 19-0 win.

The championship game on Sunday was played against Kennett.

The Sikeston 10-year-olds pulled off another no-hitter -- this one being a perfect game -- with Cord Sheehy on the mound.

Lucas Houchin had a home run in the game that ended with a 10-0 victory and the district championship for the team. Sikeston now heads to Booneville on Friday to the state Cal Ripken Tournament.
